Hacking MP4 players

Well, since most animes are MP4, it would be a pain to convert them etc etc. I tried geexbox mp4 player but it really lags. Is there anything else I can use?

(PS. My mp4s on a portable hard drive if that matters)

you can install dvdx and make a video dvd of them they won't lag, other than that i know of no other way cuz if you turn off frame skipping in mplayer the audio will video and audio are still of track by a long shot in video files.
dvd videos are the only good form of video play back on the wii i have found other than that maybe streaming them over wifi idk haven't tried that.
