Well it's been a few weeks since my last blog post and things are kind of in the same situation as last time.
I have just finished my second week of classes (started on the 7th) at college. So far not too much to say about my classes. I like all my professors so far except for my java programming prof. He's just very dry in the way he talks, he tries to make jokes but even those are really dry. This week I nearly fell asleep in his class and I never fall asleep in the afternoon unless I am really sick. A friend of mine in the 2nd year of the same program had him last year and suggested that I try to switch my schedule around so I could get the other programming prof but I'm not going to for a couple of reasons: 1. I like the way my schedule is set up, the only days that I don't have at least an hour between classes are Thursdays, where I go for 6 hrs straight ending at 6 pm, and Fridays, 4 hrs ending at noon. And 2. It would be too much of a hassle to switch my schedule around just because of one teacher.
My prof for my operating systems class gave us a cool program this week which he will start teaching us how to use next week, called VMWare Workstation. For people who don't know what this program is, it is a piece of software that allows you to create a fake computer on your computer. This term we are only be going to learn XP but next term we are supposed to learn Linux operating sysems, likely ubuntu.
Today in my networking class I found out that I had a faulty ethernet cable so tomorrow I have to go and buy a new one. The way I found out it was faulty is because in the one main classroom where I need it, my networking lab, it won't receive a proper signal and I am unable to connect to the network. Fortunately I was going to go to TigerDirect this weekend anyways because they have some portable harddrives on for good prices and I had just gotten my financial aid.
But, nothing ever seems to be able to go too well for me. My foster brother who has been in the hospital since my last blog is not doing well. It seems like the bug that he has is now resistant to the drug given to him last time so he is extremely sick. My mom told me that there is only one more drug that they can try and if that doesn't work then, well... he likely isn't gonna make it. Also now my foster sister is in the hospital with the same bug, I don't know if it is resistant or not to the drug but time will tell.
