have you tried using the moonshl2_DirectBoot.nds file instead of the moonshl2.nds file? they are both in the zip file that you downloaded

Yes I think I did, I shall try it again though.

Edit: Tried the moonshl2_DirectBoot.nds, I get half a screen of chinese text, and the rest says "NDS files version of starting MoonShell2" and "Files of installed moonshl2 folder" are different.

i just ran moonshell on my DSi, the same error comes up but for about half a second, i had to restart moonshell 3 times just to be able to read the entire message, then it continues to load normally

Yes, quite a bit. But the only bit of interest I can see is at the bottom, where it says Application halted !! Please refer [/moonshl2/logbuf.txt], which I recall deleting. I'm going to see if it's created a new logbuf.txt files and if so, read it.

If I run the moonshl2.nds file, it says ARM7Wait: goto reboot function. Can not open NDS files. [/MOONSHL2/RELOAD.DAT].

Oh, and I can't get Language Select to work either, it just tells me "The disk where MoonShell2 has been installed was not found". But that's not important right now.

Edit: logbuf.txt isn't there.

let me think it over and do some research, if i come up with anything i'll post it

in the mean time if anyone has any suggestions or is running moonshell on their DSL then please post it here

I have no idea what is wrong with it, if you haven't tried already, you can re-download all the files and load them back into the SD again, maybe the RELOAD.DAT file is corrupt, or doesn't even exist in there. You might want to check that first.

Also, I suggest working with the moonshl2_directboot.nds file for now, that seems to be the one that is getting you close to the program actually working.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but go to the moonshl2\resetmse folder and delete the ttio.nds file. You do not need that if you are running an acekard. I don't have it in my SD so that may be what is causing the problem for you, but don't quote me on it because i'm not 100% sure, however there is no harm in trying.

in order for language select to work the moonshl2 folder must be in the root of the SD card, and while the SD is connected to your computer you should run language select and it should automatically locate the SD with moonshl2 in it, if it still doesn't work then you can try using the languageselect.nds in your acekard and see what happens

I've downloaded Beta 12. I now get the error message A fatel disk error has occured. A size that the directory entry shows and Actual size of the file differs. Recovery report: Please backup all files to avoid data loss. Restore files after formatting your memory The aplication has halted unexpectedly.

And I have formatted my Micro SD before putting Beta 12 on. I also get this exact same message when changing language.

there might be an error on your SD, but at this point i'm just guessing

first with the SDFormatter go to options and change the format type to Full (Erase On) if you haven't done it like that already

then try running chkdsk, (i'm assuming you are running windows) go to start --> run and type cmd, then at the command prompt type "chkdsk x: /f" without the quotes and where x is the letter of your microSD

It looks like it's a problem with Acekard 2i. I was on another thread, and the errors I'm getting seem to happen with all Acekard 2is. Can someone with a 2i confirm this, or is it only a few 2is with this problem?

Acekard 2i, AKAIO 1.4.1, HW 81 if that helps

I'm curious about using Moonshell on my DSi and I'm using the latest unofficial AKAIO for my Acekard 2i and I am wondering if there is any issues.

There aren't any real issues that I can recall, and most issues that occur with moonshell2 is usually because something is corrupt in the mSD. Other things to note are to remember to use Xenon++'s alternative moonshell2 loader because it fixes the problem with audio not playing, and that you should turn off diskcheck because it doesn't play nicely with acekard users (it will routinely say your card is corrupt every now and then).
