Moonlight for PS4 — stream your PC games to your jailbroken PS4

Hey everyone!

So… I ported Moonlight to the PS4. Yeah, the same Moonlight you already know — the one that lets you stream games from your PC (Sunshine / GameStream) to another device. Except this time the “device” is your jailbroken PS4 sitting in the living room.

You fire up Sunshine on the PC, install the pkg on the console, pair once with a PIN, and boom — your PC games on the big screen with the DualShock.

Download (v1.1.0)

What can it do?

  • 1080p @ 60 streaming from your PC
  • Hardware video decode on the PS4 (so it stays smooth instead of melting the CPU)
  • A proper on-console menu — pick games, change settings, pair with the PIN on screen. No need to live inside config files if you don’t want to
  • DualShock 4 just works (sticks, buttons, the usual)
  • Config lives under /data/moonlight/ if you like editing stuff over FTP
  • Optional performance overlay while you stream (FPS, how heavy decode/convert are, etc.) — handy when something feels off and you want receipts
  • Bunch of knobs if you like tweaking for smoother playback / less hitching (you can ignore them and use the defaults)

Defaults are basically: 1080p60, ~20 Mbps, hardware decode on. That should be the “just install and play” path for most people.

How to get going

  1. Jailbroken PS4 with GoldHEN (I’ve been testing on 9.00)
  2. Install Moonlight-1.1.0.pkg
  3. Run Sunshine on the PC
  4. Open the app → set your PC’s IP in Settings (first launch walks you into this)
  5. Pair with the PIN shown on screen
  6. Pick a game / Desktop and stream

In the menu: L1/R1 switches APPS ↔ SETTINGS. While streaming, OPTIONS + Touchpad (hold ~1s) exits back to the menu.

Requirements / expectations

  • Jailbroken PS4 + GoldHEN
  • A PC running Sunshine (recommended) or GameStream
  • Same network, preferably wired on the PS4 if you can — Wi‑Fi works, ethernet is happier
  • This is still an unofficial hobby project. It works great for a lot of setups, but don’t expect Nintendo-level polish overnight

There’s also an experimental “fancy color path” that needs an extra GoldHEN plugin + a one-time payload after reboot. Most people can skip that and stay on the normal path — colors look fine and it’s less hassle.

If you try it, tell me how it goes — FW, wired/Wi‑Fi, Sunshine version, and whether 1080p60 feels locked for you. Feedback (and “hey this hitch every 10 seconds” reports) is very welcome.

Not affiliated with Moonlight, NVIDIA, or Sony. Jailbroken consoles only. Have fun

Been looking for something exactly like this. Installed on ps4 pro fine and connected to the local sunshine server.

Only suggestion is to include a mouse navigation with controller mode similar to the windows moonlight app. As once I clicked on desktop I couldn’t navigate the stream to open games from my desktop.
