Hells Malice you've played the MHTri Demo, not the full game.
Don't come here talking shit about a game you haven't even fully tried.

What I like about MoHun is that there's no LockOn system and there isn't a lvl system too, you can only rely on your sense of direction and your reflex to dodge things. You'd also have to rely on your armor sometimes but you can still get killed by the simplest things

he says the truth

i once got killed at united when hunting the black diablos

BlackBlos.jpg

cutie ;D

reason: a random genprey(same size of an jaggi for those who only played tri), jumped me and paralyzed me(they can do that), then the diablos came running like a freaking truck on top of me and bam, im dead

I've played the demo and I feel the controls are a bit clunky. Hopefully when the game come out the controls will be smoother...

Does any1 else agree?

The controls with Wiimote+Nunchunk feels "outta place" for me. I went out to buy a Classic Controller just for this game and damn.... Very good control scheme.

For all of you that are complaining about the attack lag and all that, I know exactly what you mean. My first Monster Hunter experience was MH Freedom 2 and to tell you the truth, I didn't like it that much after 5 hours of constant playing. My main problem was that the attacks felt very laggy(rolls cancels out the lag in your moves) but now that Tri came out for the Wii, I was trying the Japanese version of the game(still playing it =3) and it all makes sense now. You just have to choose which weapon feels the best to you. I personally like the Sword And Shield(Currently have Ludroth Nail) and I like the Switch Axe A LOT.I can't wait till the US release. Seems like I'll be playing with a few of you guys in here =P.

One thing I miss though is the Hunting Horn, I liked it for some reason. Also, the game has A LOT of depth to it. Example, making weapons. Your weapons can only go down a certain line. So lets say you want that cool looking Sword And Shield, you better not upgrade it to another weapon or else you'll have to get a brand new Sword And Shield just to make that nice one you always wanted. Happened to me xD.

sword and shield is great, but i cant see it against some monsters, in special the ones that need to be repelled/killed in a certain time(very troubling repelling lao shan with a SnS in unite, hammer makes is a joke though), but in some cases it is the easiest weapon(from unite, Kushala daora is way too easy if you use a Poison element sword and Naruga is easy if you use Eclipse, a fire elemental sns)

with that, every monster goes down easier with a certain weapon, thats why u gotta learn how to use all of them

and i Miss the bow on tri, altough i knew how to use the Bowgun, the bow felt better(had to use HBG for black blos though since the bastard has so much life)

My wii is modded with bootmii but I didn't change any menus or anything. When I buy this game and if it forces me to upgrade firmware, is it ok to upgrade?

also is there any chance of them detecting that my wii is modded when online? I'm not going to actually launch the game from the homebrew channel, just the regular disc channel

thanks

Some retail games can skip their updates by playing them through a backup loader. Like I skipped the update on my legit copy of No More Heroes 2 by loading it through uLoader. That's for most of them; not all of them.

They won't detect your modded Wii online. The only bans that have happened to Wii users is for cheating, and even that isn't all too frequent and is only isolated to a small number of games. Provided you don't cheat online, it's safe.

First of all, wrong place to ask this. But since I'm a nice person I'll answer.
1. No.

What FW are you on and why not launch the game through HBC? Can just launch the game through gecko os to block the update.

Guild beated me to it >.>...

Anyway back on topic.

I understand what you mean about Sword and Shield not able to fight certain bosses and I won't argue with that because that is true. It doesn't have enough "oophm" in its stats. I personally wanna learn the Gun's but I personally think they are more usable when playing with other people. I barely understand how to make a gun lol, its a bit complex. The frame, the stock and the head?(forgot what the last part was called) But if anything, I wanna make the Rathalos gun.

I also know how to use the Hammer very well, like combo wise etc and I'm gonna learn the Switch Axe some more. I like that weapon very much.

like the combat system is going to be any different. for the most part the difficulty of the monster hunter games is figuring out when to dodge and when you can attack. after you've got that down you can said monster pretty easily. after that its just a matter of not losing your cool or adjusting to any new attacks the monster might have.

sure, but we meant that monsters are not easy to dodge like always specially when using certain weapons(slow ones to get more power), even the qurupeco could annoy the shit out of beginners if he summons a rathian

The biggest complaint I have is that you can't really change direction while attacking like you can do in most games.

it's supposed to be like that, think of it like turned based rpgs, it makes the game more challenge like that.

yeah, but it can be frustrating not being able to turn and attack.

Tried it a million times Safavid, it does not work.
It throws some Japanese jibberish at me, and after that I can only select to spend some Wii points on game time or go back to the game start menu.
Doesn't seem to matter what settings I use in USB Loader either...
Tested in USB Loader GX, WiiFlow and Configurable USB Loader.

i am 100% sure that the japanese version you have to pay for online so it won't be free or work until you pay, it's only been confirmed that the UK PAL version will have free online mode, i would wait and see when the PAL version is released and see if it goes online then, i bet it will though.

i've killed a lot of rathians with my trusty hammer, thats one of my favored weapons in the mh series, or i prefer dual blades on the orignal mh i killed a rathalos SOLO with headlock only using dual blades, there is a youtube video of it being done too if anyone dosn't belive me, i just love duals.

sword and shield is the weakest weapon set in the whole game, the only time i use them is on weaker bosses like the Yian Kut-Ku from mh 1 lol you can't kill a Lao Shan Lung with a sword and shield, you would be there forever.

this ^^ some people here seem to think mh is a 3rd person shooter or something with free kills via auto aim, it's not the case here unfortunately.

well if you play the demo against qurupeco, he may end up summoning an rathian(low ranked qurupecos do that), though most of the time they'll summon the Great Jaggi
i've seen the rathian on tri thanks to him and it is more vicious than in United, has some new attacks and is a bit smarter(though it may have been just me trying to avoid two monsters at the same time)
im interest in Lagriacus(the huge serpent wyvern that symbolizes tri), apparently he has some Khezu-like attacks underwater and some attacks that hit all around him so he should be a challenge, specially since hes underwater

yeah i played the demo so many times and not once did rathian show up, i want to fight him
frown.gif
Lagriacus sounds instresting, so it's a water land beast kind of thing, i hated khezu it's skin is hard so it's hard to do a lot of damage on him

the most wanted at first will be the rathalos plate, which u have 3% chance of getting from carving his tail after cutting it ;D)

i hate those things, in the 1st mh game on the ps2 the percentage of getting a plate was 1% i'm not kidding, it took me ages to get the full rathalos+ armour. 3% is generous for mh tri.

BIG NEWS
This will interest you Safavid ;D
Ok as almost everyone knows now, the Japanese version didn't work online using any USB Loader, you had to use something like GeckOS combined with a DVD to play MHtri online.
I got in contact with the USB Loader GX people and talked about it and it's been solved now, you need a cIOS based on 37!
I installed cIOS249 rev19 based on 37 and it works like a charm now in USB Loader GX without the DVD.

The game will freeze when using keyboard unless you enable VIDTV Patch!! so do that!!

I'm a Monster Hunter virgin. This is gonna be my first Monster Hunter game!
smile.gif

Very excited I can't wait for it!

Btw is it an open world game?

@ Safavid
Don't forget to enable VIDTV Patch or the game will freeze when you try to type something!!!

I actually decided to buy this game (Along with Red Steel 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and possibly Metroid Other M):

I actually kind of lost interest, but I know when I actually get the game, I will love it again. The demo was great. I haven't played it in a while though.

I'm getting the classic controller pro package, and at Gamestop it's $5 off. It also comes with 500 Wii/DSi points.

So all for $55, you get (And I pre-ordered it, so a $5 deposit already down):
1. Monster Hunter Tri.
2. Classic controller Pro.
3. 500 Points.

Anyway, the game is going to be awesome. If the online isn't laggy, I can see myself playing a lot online.

I don't have a WiiSpeak, but I normally just talk on Ventrilo whenever I play video games, so I'll just do that.
