Hello everyone,

I am knew to the Wii hacking scene. I am mainly a 360 guy but I want to softmod our Wii for my wife. I am trying to find the best guide to follow and I came across this one.

My question is this.....I have a LU51 with 3.2u. Should I follow this guide completely? Should I update our Wii to 4.2 ? I see a lot of people talking about downgrading to 3.2u so I am trying to figure out what to do.

She mainly wants to play some of the newer games like EA active and Wii fit plus...does it matter what version the Wii is?

Thanks for any and all replies!

Follow the guide from after the update part then you need to det block disc updates and block updates on priiloader
hope this helps

If I update, do I do it before I follow this guide? If yes, do I do the update thru the Wii channel thing (official update) then follow the guide?

Thanks.

simple way is to update via nintendo (safe, but not 100% safe, but if u brick this way, it is ninty's fault and u can get them to send u a new wii)

safest way is to update via the xzxero's offline method, or via zektor's 4.2 safe updater (homebrew application)

i am running version 4.2e ....

i cant seem to install comex dvdx... on the irst one it comes up error...

i tried also custom ios 2.0... it donwload the content but when i goes to install the custom ios i get error (ret = -2011)

Any ideas

I have priiloader, bootmii as ios and cioscorp v1 installed. do I have to do anything special before following the update & modify guide? And maybe anything during...?

Why not just update Cioscorp?

u may have to install a non-fakesigned ios (ios30 v1040 works) to run the hackmii installer

your homebrew channel may be upsidedown if u install the HBC before installing a non-fakesigned ios61

I had no problems with this pack, well, a couple versions ago, before these latest two updates, and a friend of mine, I gave this tutorial too, two versions ago, when the RTB steps were more drawn out, he ran it, and Neogamma says he isn't using 249, and error 1048 when playing from DVD.

SignCheck gave this log back to him

SignCheck 0.3b aka loveSexWii build report
Wii region Europe
Wii unique device id 70080503

IOS number "Trucha bug" "Flash access" "Boot2 access" "Usb2.0 IOS tree"

IOS70 (ver 6687) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
IOS61 (ver 5405) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
IOS57 (ver 5661) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
IOS56 (ver 5405) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
IOS55 (ver 5406) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled

IOS17 (ver 775) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
IOS14 (ver 520) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
IOS13 (ver 273) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled

Any ideas? I honestly tried searching, and with all the results, I spent about 30 mins searching and couldn't find the same symptoms.

I apologize if this is so easy to answer, I never had a problem, and am pretty good with the Wii, I just am not sure why everything is Disabled, and there is no 249.

This was the pack with 249 and 250 rev 15 included, had him only do rev14 though, since he wants Neogamma.

Thanks!
your friend has a Korean Wii and the method is a little different http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/ha...de/korean-start

Where in that indicates a Korean Wii. Not that I don't believe you, but I'd like to know for my own sake. So I don't ask the question again. haha. I see that it says Region Europe. But which IOS indicate Korean, I know Korean Wii's won't have IOS36 installed, and I see that IOS36 is DISABLED, is that what makes it Korean?

Thanks for the response too!
