No previous saves
Copied data from 43.zip that I got link from email
Tell it no save file at startup, go to vault, tells me it can't find a save and then just hangs there and making a "whining" sound.
Now what?
Are you able to select 236?iceflow420 said:burritoboy9984 - thanks, I'll have to try that later (friends Wii)
But I have a question about mine (4.2U w/BannerBomb), it seems CIOS 249 is corrupted. When I try to use Wannako 1.4 (or 1.5, don't remember) it disconnects the Wii controller at the select CIOS screen. Any ideas on how to fix that or what would be causing it?
Yes, you are supposed to pick 236. That's what it says in the guide.iceflow420 said:Will I be able to fix 249 with that? None of my Game Channels or USB Loader are working either
iceflow420 said:Yes, that was what the "current" guide says, I read that. When I updated my hack I was going from 4.0 to 4.2, 4.3 wasn't even out yet.
I will repost this again, I am on 4.2u (USA) and my ios249 has stopped working (no game channels or USB loader will work). When I pick 249 from the wad manager is shuts off the controllers.
Is there a way to fix this or can I just redo the Bannerbomb exploit?
Just follow the modify 4.2 section again.
QUOTE(Pontes De Leon @ Jun 11 2011, 11:51 AM)Thank you so much for this guide! I'm new to the Wii modding scene and went through the guide quickly with no issues!!![]()
I just had one question which I'm not sure if someone could answer here. I would like to use USB Loader GX but I'm not entirely sure which version to use. They have different ones for different IOS.' Just looking for some simple directions for setup to configure the loader similar to the guide here.
Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am a newb when it comes to this sort of stuff. The only way I was able to mod my Wii was thanks to this wonderful guide!!
After updating the Wii to 4.3, did you still have the Homebrew Channel? If not, you will have to reinstall it using one of the games listed in the original post. Period. If you still have any forwarder channels leftover from before you updated, you might be able to use one of those instead. Once you have the Homebrew Channel installed, you no longer need any of the games. If you still have the Homebrew Channel, you can install the necessary IOS files from there using ModMii in order to troubleshoot why you are having difficulties reading discs.envoy221 said:Sorry if this has been asked before but im in a bit of a predicament! Its kinda specific & i searched google & I couldn't find anything there & couldn't find anything using the search feature here.
Basically have a wii that was already hacked, something happened & its not reading discs anymore, one of my friends updated to 4.3 (fail) cause he thought that might fix it, obv it.
Looking at the exploits for 4.3 they all seem to rely on loading a game & exploiting a save from there. I'm not a noob at softmodding wii's, I've done a good few before so I'm up with the terminology etc.
One possibility I thought of was if someone uploaded a modded save file & I could work from there? Not sure though as it seems i have to load a game all the time.
Any other possibilities?
Thanks for taking the time to read this & help a gbatemp noob!

Edit: If I wasn't clear, without the Homebrew Channel, a forwarder channel, or the ability to load discs, you're out of luck.
Correct. Your only option appears to be to get your disc drive replaced or repaired. You might want to try cleaning the lens.envoy221 said:The homebrew channel isn't on it cause your man deleted it for no good f reason!!!!! So it's still "hacked" afaik, but there's just no way to actually put any homebrew on it (?)Versions 1.0.7 and 1.0.8 of the Homebrew Channel would not have been deleted by the 4.3 update, so you must have been using an old version. The only ways to get the Homebrew Channel back are to use one of the game exploits in order to load the HackMii Installer or use a leftover forwarder channel in order to load the HackMii Installer.
One more thing re the save games; if I understand correctly you need to actually load the game at least once? Or in otherwords, I'm f'd on the A!!!envoy221 said:Do you think there's any chance of a new exploit coming out for 4.3 or has the scene slowed down, I haven't been following lately. It is possible, but I highly doubt it. It has been a year since 4.3 came out, and no exploit has been released that would allow for the installation of the Homebrew Channel without the use of certain game discs.

If you have a channel on your Wii that forwarded you to an app on your SD card, that would be considered a forwarder channel. For example, if you have the WiiMC Channel installed on your Wii's system menu, you could possibly trick it in order to get forwarded to the HackMii installer. Other common forwarder channels include the Configurable USB Loader Channel, the NeoGamma Channel, and the Gecko OS Channel. If you have any custom channels still installed on your Wii's system menu, they are likely forwarder channels.envoy221 said:Thanks for the continued support laciis, is there any +rep on this site? I can't see it if there is!No, I don't think so. Thanks though.
QUOTE(envoy221 @ Jun 15 2011, 03:16 PM) What did you mean about using an old forwarder channel btw? How would I access it if it had been there?
when you modded it, why didn't you install priiloader and enable the block update hacks....?V!olaPlayer said:Hi, I modified my Wii back when I had 4.2, but recently my mother upgraded it to 4.3 to play a new game of hers, and so when I try and load USB Loader GX (I believe is what it's called), I can't access the program. All other homebrew applications work perfectly, though.
So basically I just need that to run. Thanks!
