Yup, im the same guy who started the topic WAD manager 1.7 help.
anyway, what basically happens is that when i try to install a WAD it dosen't wanna cooperate and decides to freeze. it usually happens when its installing Content 3.

Okay that solved the mystery . You need to have a cios or a patched ios to install WADs + you will need to have a patched system menu ios to be able to play wiiware wads .

I suggest you just use ModMii to rehack your wii & it should set up all those things for you but if that doesn't suite you I can write a small guide for you to follow to set things up.

have you tried reloading IOS236???? or tried another wad manager like WiiMod3.0 or YAWM? if it freezes using all these it may just be a bad wad file?

Out of curiosity have you tried using Postloader2 to run your WW/VC games from an emu-nand?

EDIT: You only need a patched SM if you decide to run WW/VC games from SD.

that's weird, i managed to install some WADs without any problems.
anyway, hope that isn't too tricky or dangerous.

Well if you really managed to install others WADs before then your ios might be patched .

Anyway to clear things up post a syscheck using this guide . It might end up like kylster suggested that you have some bad WADs .

MMM can use AHBPROT to install wads (instead of a patched IOS), which requires IOS 58, so that explains why MMM is using it. Have you tried using an actual patched IOS like 236 or 249 to install the wads?

That is not true. AHBPROT is not bound to IOS58.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about that, but I didn't think it worked (on the homebrew channel at least) without IOS 58 installed, does it?

It does. Suppport for IOS58 wasn't added until v1.0.8, but AHBPROT was added v1.0.7. Because the releases were so close together, and they were the biggest features added, people associate one with the other.
