My wee boy plays minecraft, to be able to play with other people they need to be in his friends list, he has no friends with playstations, is there a safe way to get him online to play with other kids?

I think your child would be better off playing in the sandbox in the yard and making friends there.

Sounds like you want PC minecraft for all their various servers(like hypixel)

Your only other option is to play alone, or find people to play with him on split screen

Yes, there are a lot of great Minecraft servers. I particularly like the BoxPVP servers because it's an interesting game mode where you can battle others and collect equipment. There's always a season end where every player can compete, and the best player gets a main prize. It's a well-designed game mode. I can recommend it to anyone who enjoys PvP servers.
