Ok so I got a backup version of minecraft. I placed the .minecraft folder in the appdata folder. Then I go to run the minecraft_name.jar file with Java and I get this error message that says Could not find the main class. Program will exit. What should I do?

    "backup version"? Pirated version*?

1- Buy it. It's not expensive and it's supporting a man making a great game.

2- Make sure you have a (proper) Minecraft.jar file in the .minecraft/bin folder. As opposed to the one normally found in the .minecraft folder.
