Gaming Miis from Wii to Wii U

Sorry I didn't see a thread about this already, but is there any way to transfer Miis to the Wii U without a 3DS or using the transfer utility? I tried copying my Miis to my Wii remote but I don't see an option on the Wii U to copy from the remote. Thanks.

why don't you want to use the trasfer utility? (not actually sure if that does Mii's or not, though)

The transfer utility does transfer Miis according to the documentation. I don't want to transfer because it erases all the content from the Wii and I'm not 100% sure that I want to keep the Wii U.

What other people have said works great for them is just doing a NAND backup wit BootMii right before doing the transfer and then just restoring it right after. That way you can have everything on both of them.

is it t hard to remember the visual of your mii and make it on the wii u?
