Years after Microsoft released the 2006's Flight Sim X, they are ready to reboot the series. You can now register to be a beta tester for the new Microsoft Flight, which will be ready for testing sometime around January.

    Source.

Sign up. (Note: You will need a Windows Live account to apply.)

Wow, I had completely that these had existed. I remember some people had tried to blame the 9/11 attacks on these simulators (for teaching the terrorists how to fly planes, apparently).

Hopefully that controversy doesn't get reignited.

I've never ever played a flight simulator game, I think I might like it. I just hope it isn't too hard to learn.

Hmm...Played a couple of them when they first came out, using an old joystick was pretty damn cool with this. Might take a look when it comes out.

I remember these games. In particular, Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

Call me crazy but for this game, I'm less excited about the flight mechanics and more excited for the visuals. DirectX 11, I hope.

Well that got me excited for the game without showing me any gameplay footage.

Finally registered. Jeez, all that Windows live, Xbox and hotmail stuff is such a pain.
