Gaming MH Gen/GenU save transfer

So just curious if this requires an internet connection? Could be an issue with the latest update, going from a modded 3ds to a legit switch. Don't want to stays over...

I believe the original save data stays intact, so even with connection errors it should be pretty safe, I've done it with 3U as well.

Well I can always backup the save, that's no big deal. I meant start over on the switch if I can't transfer. I just figured if anyone did it with the JPN version they may know if it requires an up to date firmware, or if it did at the time.

Is the save data app for mhgen 3ds available yet? Hopefully we can transfer data over wifi from 3ds to switch

I haven't looked. I don't have access to the eShop (region changed system).

Apparently the transfer tool is available, but since I'm region changed I can't access it. Anyone have it to give it a go?
