Hacking memorex dvd not working

Okay, I have read a ton on this topic.

I KNOW that +R's are not the best way to do this, but I have no choice, and I have successfully changed my booktype.

For those of us who MUST use +R, is there a recommended brand? Is it still Verbatim, I see for -R's they are the disc of choice, but I was worndering if it applies to +R as well.

The other thing, there is a program out there that will compare the data on the burned disc to the data in the img file, and is much more robust than the imgburner verification. It returns a result in a %, usually 85+ equals a good burn.

Can someone tell me the name of this program, as I have looked all over the forums and have been unable to find it again, thanks.

Only thing i can think of may be dvdinfo, dvdinfopro, or nerodicspeed that *might* have what you're looking for.

In regards to media. I say media code matters more than brand here, but there are brands that continually used media manufactured by quality manufacturers. You can't go wrong with Verbatim for +R either. This link provided earlier in the thread was full of good info and worth the read.

As far as +R vs -R, I prefer +R as long as you can bitset to DVD-ROM, as this eliminated my problems with OLD dvd playback devices that couldn't read -R media. I've been using +R for years with xbox1, my stand alone DVD player, and now Wii. No problems at all related to these devices actually reading the media.

If you want to learn more about the quality of the various brands of discs, head over to club.cdfreaks.com and check out the 'Blank Media' forums. Just about every brand of disc has been tested and discussed there.
