Emulation Homebrew melonDS for Switch — continuation part 2

Thank you very much. I just finished Wario Ware: Touched! with version 7.2. work flawlessly
(It's refreshing to play fully touch screen game on switch, and can easily touch with my finger, Switch is like DS 2.0 for real)

You're doing really great work here man, I'm rooting for you, cheers. :grog:

Thanks so much for your work, this emulator is now a really great way to play DS games on the Switch.

However, there is still an issue with the remapping: it won't apply my remapped input settings on startup. If I then go into the input menu and return to the game, it applies it, but otherwise it seems to initialise with the defaults. If it's relevant, I'm playing via custom per-game forwarders.

This isn't just a problem for me, as another user mentioned it in this thread, but nobody acknowledged their message.

If that issue could be fixed, this emulator would be a totally seamless experience. It seems like it would be a relatively easy problem to solve, too.

Thanks for reporting, I'll try to fix it in the next dev release. I'm close to enable hardcore mode too

Hi, I just fixed that, you can check new version here, in the nightly release:

https://github.com/Gheovgos/melonDS/releases/tag/nightly

Keep in mind, if you log probably you'll get a Notification that says Hardcore mode is enabled. It is NOT enabled atm

Hello
I am hoping you could fix an annoying issue I had with Catlovers old version of MelonDS and the Pokemon Black2/White 2 games, this is my re-post from his thread:

"So this is probably a shot in the dark, but I am currently playing Pokemon Black 2 and having played for a long time with the C-gear both on and off, I've noticed a really annoying/critical issue that always seems to happen sooner or later if your C-gear is turned on:

At some point, time in the game will always stop, which of course, would break all time-related events in the game. I say would, because if you try to save the game after this occurs, it will just hang and never save the game. I'd imagine that using save states only would circumvent this issue, but I am also afraid that loading from a savestate after the error happens, will make the bug permanent, whereas the bug is temporary if you just re-load an in-game save from before the issue happens.

It does mean that if you turn on the C-gear and don't save for a long time, you're gonna end up losing some progress since you can't save once the bug happens. And while the bug won't happen immediately, it always happens after 1-2 funfests, where it's very easily noticeable, because the counter that's there during the funfest mission stops counting down, making that part of the game unplayable on Switch.

The c-gear works perfectly with MelonDS for PC mind you.

I hope that someone has a fix for this. I am currently switching between playing the game on my Switch and my PC because of this annoying issue."

can you send me the save file?

can you add the remap for switch screen? because the remap is only for just a button.
for ex. remap for load, save, open melonds menu, switch screen.
tnx

The issue was fixed in newer versions of melonDS. As a workaround we made a savestate fixer https://nhp.sh/gen5statefix/
Not enabling C-gear prevents the issue from appearing at all.

Yes I'm already working on it, if you can build it you can also use those new features. I'm not uploading the dev build atm because I want to let to use combo buttons too, but it needs to be polished more

Hello
I appreciate your response, but it doesn't really help me. I am aware it is fixed in newer versions (which, at least at the time I originally posted this, was limited to the PC version of MelonDS). I don't use savestates, so the savestate fixer isn't needed. I am aware that not playing with the C-gear turned on "fixes" the issue. I am having the issue because I NEEDED to use the C-gear. I am using version 6, fix 1, which was the latest version available at that time.
