HI, my wii u version is 5.5.1, i tried with two different types of folders and none of them seems to work, also it looks like this is a common issue with this game.

If you're running Mario Kart 8 through Mii Maker, you can't have any Mario Kart updates installed.

It worked for me perfectly fine, you might wanna try playing with an account with no Nintendo Network ID, Minecraft would freeze for me if I didn't so that might help.

i've for sure not installed updates! plus the game starts till the kart sound of the start screen, then it freezes!

As others have said Mario Kart only works in SSBB mode if you have all the updates. Miimaker mode works fine if you are using one version back

I´m having the same issue.
I use a silicon power micro SD card with fat32 format.
My system version is 5.5.1 U.
I have tried with the latest build of loadiine and with the stable version (0.2).
I have downloaded 4 versions of mario kart 8 and I have the same problem with each of them with no updates and tried to load the game with SSB and Mii Maker.

My other games load perfectly (TLOZ:TP, YWW, pokken tournament, star fox)



Edit: I didn´t find the rules so if I'm doing something wrong by posting the link just tell me and I will take it off.

To anyone having this trouble I fixed it by formatting my sd card with MiniAide fat32 formatter. You have to set fat32 and 32kb cluster.
