I just threw this cart maker together today, as the ingame one doesn't display all the stats there are: Only land speed and handling is actually shown with the mini turbo length hitbox size is missing entirely!

(Mini turbo is for example power slide or jumping while driving off a ramp)

Feel free to play around with it, but be warned: I only tested it with Firefox - so if it doesnt work or looks super fugly: sucks to be your browser :P

My default configuration for the game is:

Whats yours?

P.S. MK8 has - as usual - lots of clones...
P.P.S. Stats are from GameFAQs

This seems rather unnecessary as the game itself already does this too, although not in such a technical manner.
the game does not show water, air and anti-gravity speed and handling, as it only shows land speed and handling. mini trubo and hitbox size is missing entirely too.

so its not quite as unnecessary as you said, especially when looking at your cart (land speed is pretty low, but scores big in water)

Bladexdsl,
its the size of your cart, which plays a role for any kind of collision.

I used this when playing at a friend's place and it was pretty great.

In an overall perspective having this amount of information doesn't really do much good as you're not going to get a huge advantage over the others as they'll probably have the same settings and the speed tends to be slow most of the time unless you've got some boost/nitro on hold.

youre just not pro enough to truly care about all these stats :D
it matters, if ever so slightly, especially if you play a track that has more water or anti-gravity parts, where land isnt a huge factor :)

That may be because I've gotten burnt out of it.

While it's quite good on its own, I used to use this before.

I see your characters/parts seems to be organized by what stats they give, which is quite good, the icons feels big however.

Since you have one done, maybe you could show a second graph next to the first, to compare builds ?

thanks for the feedback guys :)

Fyrus,
I considered adding a comparison option, but then opted for the hover-comparison of individual parts instead. Also, you can also open it twice and put the browser windows right next to each other to compare.

P.S. I will add tabs in a later version, so that one doesnt have to see all icons at the same time, but only either character, cart, tire or glider (no scrolling on small screens). Will that solve the "icons feel big" issue or what do you mean by big for you?

Compare the buttons on your site and the one I linked, I feel the ones on mine are not too big, and you can see everything at once.

Tabs would be a nice idea, but I feel just reducing the size of the icons (removing character names, for example, and making these a tooltip) would be better.

Again, just my opinion.

ah okay. yeah true, more compact compared to mine. id prefer keeping the names though and ill probably add tabs within a week or so to avoid scrolling. maybe i can tweak the oversize even more and switch to a bitmap font for the icons, so its even more compact :)
