Mario Kart 7 - New Drivers

I love it when they include characters that no one sees coming, or just less important characters at that. December can't come soon enough.

LMAO!!!! I was thinking the same thing, but I like Metal Mario and wasn't Shy Guy in another game and technically, Mii isn't new

I just wish they had made shy guy playable on the DS version, whenever I played someone I looked stupid when I said I wanted to play on DS download

I would liked to have seen a create a racer(not just mii racers) and a create a kart modes, heck even throw in a create a track mode! Come on Nintendo get on the ball here!

Well that's certainly different. I was expecting Hammer Bro or one of the Babies - DEFINITELY not Honey Queen. I think it's cool that they went out of the park with her. I still think Metal Mario is dumb though, and Wiggler isn't really that much of a stretch - he was in Super Sluggers and in Tennis before. I do LOVE that Shy Guy is a regular racer now. 5/6 isn't bad.

The Lakitu you can race as has a red shell whereas the other Lakitu that starts the race etc has a green shell like he has in past Mario Kart games.

And since Maple Treeway is coming back in Mario Kart 7, it means Wiggler can be run over by Wigglers.

Miis arent really new characters, you could play as them on Mario Kart Wii.

Anyway, looks good, I hope this game is decent, I didn't really like mario kart wii, but double dash was awesome, and is still my favorite mario kart game.

all that's missing here? give Mario Kart racers their very own Special Attack. seriously, it would be awesome. battle mode will be a bloody mess with special attacks. speaking of battle mode, i know VS online or local supports 8 players, but how about 8-way free-for-all battle mode? huh? HUH? three balloons ain't gonna be enough when you've got 7 other people gunning for you.

Thats bad enough but what if they kept the DS version of "inflating" your balloons before you battle. Sitting there with 1 balloon desperately blowing into the microphone with 7 other people heading towards you XD

You could also hold the select button to inflate a balloon.

I think the Honey Queen's inclusion was alluded to with the bee kart that Yoshi can be seen driving in the Metal Mario pic.

kindof cool to have these new racers adds new elements cant wait to try this or get an emulator out of the 3DS and then have to wait for games to be dumped, how are we doing on time wise with the DS being hacked and 3DS being hacked what another year before we might see a 3DS rom dumps and flash carts and emulators?

Yap, what a weird decision. Wiggler is pretty cool, but who the hell is that Honey Queen? O_O
Still going to main Shy Guy, definitely my favorite character. Also, I don't see a problem with Metal Mario. It's pretty cool that also the car is metal (makes you stand out ).
So I'm guessing Waluigi is not in the game? not that I really care (hated him anyway), but I'm sure many people will be disappointed.

So looking forward to this game.

Wow... I didn't know that I remember playing Mario Kart DS with my DSL, and the mic was not working, so I used to play balloon battle only with one balloon. Sure as hell wasn't easy.

BTW, any idea if battle mode will be online? in MKDS it wasn't, but in MKWii it was. I sure hope they aren't going backwards...
