At the Nintendo Media Summit today, Nintendo announced the first details of the Mario Baseball game..

- firstly.. the game is renamed Mario Super Sluggers
- The controls for the batter and pitcher work like Wii Sports, twisting the remote while throwing the ball gives you a curveball
- Power moves can be pulled of with an A+B button combination, when charged
- Fielding appeared to be largely controlled by the game's AI, with a shake of the Wii Remote making your fielder sprint to the ball.
- Throwing to a baseman requires just a simple toss.
- A quick press of A will make your defensive player dive for the ball, for dramatic last second catches.
- Characters include Mario, Luigi, Peach, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Daisy, Shy Guy, Monty Mole, Donkey Kong, Hammer Bros, Birdo and others..
- Like Super Mario Strikers, Mario Super Sluggers uses a similar coach character team set up, with second string NIntendo characters like Shy Guy and Baby Mario covering the field while the player handles pitching duties.

This night its a party of news on gbatemp ? XD

great new

I have nothing better to do.. and I like to post news, what can I say!? XP

About the game, I liked baseball on WiiSports but thought that the AI was too much part of the game.. a Baseball game with Wii controls and more freedom to the player is something I was looking forward to.

Never have liked any of the Mario sports games.
They all tend to suck. :/

I'm perfectly happy with Wii Sports Baseball

Camelot has made a terrific work so far with the Mario Sports series -Golf and Tennis-, Mario Strikers was awesome for multiplayer on the GC, Square Enix..well, I didn´t really like Mario Basketball, but some people certainly did.
Nintendo needs to do a better job with this one if they want it to succeed, with Smash Bros and MKWii out, the competition for the sales is gonna be hard.
