hey man want to make your computer faster?

Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced (tab) > Performance Settings > choose custom & only select the last 3 options which are
1] use common tasks in folders
2] use drop shadows for icon labels on desktop
3] use visual styles on windows and buttons

press ok and watch how faster your cpu is

You could always use Computer optimizers to remove registry files of which are useless / not properly installed. They can also delete files of which are temporary but are using up the hard drive space. They can also defrag the hard drive to speed up and keep the computer efficient.

or get a better CPU

this might be good for netbooks
but for other PC's, no so much

You can uninstall junk programs that came pre-installed.
You can disable startup programs you don't need.
If you use an Anti-virus, pick a good one that uses few resources like Avast. (Never use Norton)

It would help to speed up a weak netbook I suppose.
This stuff is largely applicable to Vista too.

everythings just about been mentioned

but you dont need to select these either , looks better though

install Windows 7.
