Gaming MagicGate vs Fake Memory stick. Difference?

Ok, so my fully hackable White Vader PSP-2000 is on 5.50 Prome-3. I only have a 1gb card which is terrible for backups.
I bought two 8gb MicroSD cards and a dual MicroSD card to Memory Stick Pro Duo adapter. They haven't arrived yet, so I've been doing some research to make sure the adapter will work as the site claims it will (if it doesn't, I'll just use MicroSDs for my DSi).
Repeatedly I've heard that the adapter won't show up as a MagicGate card. Will this affect me in any way? I mainly want to play my backups. If it won't affect me, can you explain what the difference is?

Magic Gate is some special Sony technology which makes little to no difference. We PSP users just use it as a way to determine if a Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo is a real, or a fake one.

exactly what Jolan said i use a dual micro sd to memory stick duo adapter and it work just as fast if not faster than the official card i had.
