Can anybody tell me why some sound files which are fine on any other media player (portable or pc based) only play through one speaker when accessed via sakura, but play perfectly through moonshell?

Sounds like a bug in Sakura's player. I haven't tried playing mp3 files in Sakura yet. But watched few movies and sound was grand, no problems at all.

By the way, it would be a nice addition to the player if it would be possible to control channel balance, switch between stereo/mono/normalized, and having equalizer with presets and manual.

I would prefer sakura over moonshell if i could use it (damb g6).

I confirm this issue - most mp3 files play with correct balance, but few of my mp3's sound much quieter on one channel. In moonshell they all sound ok.
