Hacking M3 Perfect Lite Battery

My battery died. I opened it up, but I can't tell what kind it is. Does anyone know? I think it is a rechargeable coin battery.

it says right on top of the battery what type it is.

It's covered up by metal strips. I think it a Panasonic VL2020 (it just says VL2???).

If you know it is Panasonic and their VL series then the numbers are something you can measure. In coin cells the first two digits (or I guess sometimes single digit) are the width in mm if you round down and if you put a dot in the middle of the last two you have the thickness.

I took one out a long time ago but I lost it. I should of documented it. I'm thinking about replacing the battery on my M3 as well.

Any CR-12XX with tabs will work.

You can use the Maintainence section of the 3in1 guide to locate a CR-1220 battery with tabs. I buy them in lots of 20. They also work in the EZ-IV.

it has to be facing both forward and not on opposite sides.

The 12 in CR-12XX is the diameter of the button cell.

Here is the table from the link that Fast6191 listed.

You can look at the CR1220 row and look at the Dimension column, the diameter is 12.5. Measuring the diameter is the faster way to determine the button cell size.

Tabs can be 180 or on the same side as there are different versions.
