It doesn't support them for Games, it only supports them for music and movies within moonshell.

How does it work then? I can't boot on my 4GB Sandisk card, so how do I get to Moonshell?

It seems that various sources say that M3 Lite can use SDHC 4GB for their media extend mode (mp3s, etc, in moonshell). If, however, you cannot boot up from your SDHC card, then either it is nor formatted to FAT, or it is possible that you are in possession of a 'fake' SanDisk memory card (there are a lot of them floating around), which is actually smaller but compressed to make double the space. As far as I know, there is no device other than windows file storage that can make any use of such cards.

If it is neither, then I don't know. I use M3 Real on my 8GB SDHC card and have never had any problems.

I had the idea I couldn't format to FAT16, only FAT32.
Is there a way to check if it's a fake card?

Check with eBay - they have a collection of reviews giving signs of fake cards. Some signs include fake serial numbers (adding an extra letter or digit in it for no reason) although you can't check that on all cards. There are also aesthetic differences, such as how some authentics only use gold print whilst fakes use white or yellow print. Search around for more details - it's usually different but similar for every brand.
