Is there some sort of key combo for the realtime cheat feature? I checked it in the menu, but the software didn't come with a ReadMe or anything on how to use it.

Does this firmware fix the cheats for castlevania? Before when I had cheats on I got a white screen.

You don't need cheats in Castlevania. You need skills.

Great games, both of them btw.

And I read someone was asking the same thing in the R4DS firmware version 1.11 thread. So check there.
Don't know what page, sorry.

I have just upgraded to m3dss 1.07 and it does seem to fix download play.

- I have always used the exelent drag and drop DS Trimmer v1.0 Â2006-2007 Bodom-Child.
- I did not retrim any roms.
- All my DSs are flashed with flahsmev7.

So far, I have only tested download play on Konami Classics series, and it now works just fine. It did not previously work with firmware 1.06. I'm now able to play Contra in dual DS game mode!

And in such a short time too since the R4 update. It seems the M3 team is 'almost' getting to the same update speed as the R4. I was expecting it to come out about a couple of week later.
Every M3 Simply update has been released two days after the equivalent R4 update, except for the one that only added multiple themes and the theme.ini file. That one took seven days.

In fact, you may also note the "R4DS ROM Trimmer MFC Application" under the description - on both files

So it seems that while the R4 team is always pushing out their firmware first, it was the M3 side of the equation that gave us the "proper" trimmer to begin with.Â

M3Simply, it's firmware and software are all made by R4 Team, M3 just (let) change the background picture and name/check in the firmware. When the description of the M3DS trimmer says "R4DS ROM Trimmer MFC Application" it clearly means the program was made by R4 Team and relabeled by M3Team, where they again forgot to change the description.

And why would M3 Team release a v2.0 of "their" trimmer if (like you suggest) v1.0 did the same thing?

And finally a hex-compare of M3 RomTrimmer v1.0 and v2.0 shows many differences between the 2 files, not to mention they both produce different trimmed roms.

anyone notice in the theme files they left the normal r4 theme in the icons.bmp file? lol guess there not trying to hide the fact its not theirs anymore lol

Full Guide To This Update

Download Play

You can divide the Download Play games into 2 categorys.

1. One person has the game and sends it to their friends. The friends Click "DS Download Play" on the DS's main menu.

2. Two people have the game and one person doesn't (Mario Kart). The person who doesn't have the game clicks download play, while one person hosts it. The person who has the game but is not hosting goes into the games menu and joins, thus 2 people with cards, one without.

But of course, there is Multi-Card play.

If the ROM is trimmed too much, the Download Play may still be broken. To solve this, Use a trimmer like "SkinnyROM" (My Personal Favourate).

If you are using previous firmware, Flashing the DS does nothing to improve Download Play compatability. That was a myth spawned due to the fact that if a DS was Flashed, Wi-FiMe would then work again, as FlashMe removes summit like the RSA header checks in Download Play, Therefore allowing the DS to Recognise and start the Wi-FiMe Download. With the R4/M3DSS, it just used to crash after starting to download.

DS to Wii Linking (Pokémon Battle Revolution + Pokémon Diamond & Pearl)

To simply put it, THIS DOES NOT WORK YET.

The "Realtime Cheats Switch"

This just stops the R4/M3DSS from enabling the realtime cheats.

In the cheats menu, there is a tick box that turns this feature On/Off.

If on, the R4/M3DSS can turn enabled cheats on and off in game. To use, press "L+R+START+UP" To enable the selected cheats, and "L+R+START+DOWN" to disable cheats. This works just like the switch on the bottom of an Action Replay GBA.

Moonshell

To Soft-Reset in Moonshell 1.71, Press "L+R+A+B"

Things not yet done + Things I would like to see

DS --> Wii Link
Castlevania PoR Full Compatability (Fixable with certain Memory Cards)
