According to multiple sources, it is safe to install the latest firmware version 11.6.0-39U that was released if you're using b9s and cfw, which I am indeed using. I wanted to update my b9s and Luma before I update the system firmware, but I am having issues accessing Luma3DS's chainloader menu. When I hold start+power to access it, it automatically takes me into GodMode9, even though I have the SafeB9SInstaller.firm in the payloads folder too. I tried renaming the GodMode9.firm to up_GodMode9, which did nothing, and I also tried completely removing the GodMode9.firm from the Luma payloads folder completely, and it STILL auto-booted GodMode9. So, my questions are, A: Can someone confirm that it is actually safe to update my firmware to 11.6.0-39U? Because if not, I'm just gonna stop trying. B: If it is safe to update, what is going on with my GodMode9!?

What's probably happening is you are booting Luma3DS and GodMode9 from your CTRNAND, not from your SD card. Download Luma3DS 8.1.1 and put the boot.firm onto the root of your SD card. After doing this, trying booting SafeB9SInstaller from the payloads folder using Start on boot.
No luck, still boots into GodMode9...
EDIT: I should mention, I went to Luma3DS settings to see if it properly updated, and it is still v7.1. Downloading the new boot.firm and putting it in my SD card did nothing to Luma.

Turn on the 3DS while holding Select. Which version of Luma3DS is displayed at the top of your configuration settings?
Mystery solved then. You need to use an older version of Luma3DS because you are currently on B9S v1.0. Download Luma3DS 7.1 and put the boot.firm onto your SD card. After that, your 3DS should recognize your SD card instead of defaulting to using the files on the CTRNAND.

After you update to B9S v1.3, you will need to update your Luma3DS boot.firm to v8.1.1, since Luma3DS v7.1 is not compatible with B9S v1.3.
