Homebrew Luma Game Patching causing large lag spikes.

Hello everyone, I am playing through Shadows of Valentia with Berkut and Fernand hex edited into my game, and using Game Patching so that they have voiced lines. However everytime I get into a battle, I notice that everything loads slower, and certain characters (Such as Berkut, or Shade) get really bad frames or even experience freezes midbattle. Is there anything I can do to help reduce this lag?

EDIT: I am playing on a n2DS XL.

Could still use some help if this is possible to fix. It isn't letting me edit the post again, so here's a bit more information as I realize I didn't provide very much.

-I am on the n2DSXL homebrewed with Luma.
-My SD card is 64GB (I selected 64KB when I formatted it to FAT32)

Not sure what other information is needed, will provide more if asked for and I can get it.

Try to go to enter the Rosalina menu and enter the New 3DS menu... then Set clock rate to 804MHz and Enable L2 cache, does that help?
