I have been looking for a new laptop and I am not sure what model to get, all the ones that I am finding that tick the boxes are all over a grand.

What I want:
  • 1920x1080+
  • 2.5" SATA
  • Thunderbolt 3
  • Non-Intel graphics
  • Real SODIMM slots
  • 4t/4c+
  • 1GB+ Ethernet
  • Numpad
What would be nice:
  • NVM-e
  • AMD

You're not going to find a full sized numpad on a laptop. You will need to get an external USB numpad if you can't live without one.

Otherwise get a Thinkpad.

They are not as common as they once were (which also means a general paucity of larger screens) but I still see plenty of models out there with them.
