Imagine the following case:
Person A stays on 3.0.0 (for "reasons").
Person B wants to play some of the newest games and keeps updating his FW to 4.x

Both players are going to buy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on cartridge.

I know that if person B updates the game he can't play with A any longer but if he launches the game without updating, would it work?

The game version should be the same on both Switch consoles, only the FW is different.

Has anyone ever tested that?

I'm pretty sure it works

I would not be able to verify that

I can't verify that... but I would watch it as these updates tent to install pretty easy.

EDIT: my 666 post
Oh okay. But I hope the same doesn't go for FW updates?
But it could be the case that person A which is on 3.0.0 can't receive the update from person B over WiFi as the newest Mario Kart 8 update might require a higher FW than 3.0.0, right?
I guess we would have to find out.

But this isn't answering my question:
that it shares updates with players that have it not installed
Because I only wanted to know if both players can play with each other if even person B with the high FW did not update the game.

Game updates require newer fw then 3.x most the time

That might be true but I'm talking about not updated games.
Person B on FW 4.1 can always decline any game updates. So both should be able to play a completely stock/vanilla MK8D with each other.

However. My friend on 4.1 already owns MK8D (and did not update).
As soon as I get that game too I'll report back here.

Must say, Project VORAPIS / V3 for YouTube and StarTube combined makes for a very fast load time and nice look/feel

@Kirbydogs, Make sure to check the scripts before even applying them, as there are some Tampermonkey scripts that could be malicious.

I'm currently setting up a Windows 11 virtual machine to use some Windows software that I often use.

Everything is debloated, all updated, and did some tweaks to help performance because it needs really heavy requirements.

@Kirbydogs, Good thing I've got Open Shell, it's an open source version of Classic Shell that a lot of people used because Windows 8's start menu sucked.

I remember seeing a comment on a recent Enderman video, "Windows users: "Linux is for nerds!" Also Windows Users:" (it was referencing literally hacking an OS build)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Kirbydogs, What OS build was it?
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
Dev build that was leaked, meant for Microsoft 365
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Kirbydogs, Ah yes, it was meant for 365 Link devices. Not meant to be used as a consumer build because it's very stripped down to the core.

It is kinda creepy though, it shows *some* insight on what Windows may look like in the future. For example, the CTRL+ALT+DEL menu is a.. webview?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Kirbydogs, The Windows 11 OOBE is a webview, even the 365 enterprise logon screen.

Yeah, I saw the video on that, too. So disgusting..

Wow, though, using an old YouTube layout really makes YT feel more like a community and less like a corporation

Despite Google Plus forcing users to sign up to even make a comment on a video. I remember it when I signed up to a YouTube account, couldn't even make a nickname lol.
