I think we are all disappointed that it wasn't "FFXIII-3: Hope Returns".

Because Hope was a great character and definitely not an annoying thundercunt.

If you ask me in terms of XIII characters Sazh > pretty much everyone else >> Hope. Seriously though the battle system of this looks somewhat interesting. If battles are actually fun, I might buy this (even though it's no "proper FF" or something like that)

It kinda grazed my shoulder.
I'm liking the battle system and environment interactions.
But that costume is an insult to fashion sense and that dumb line at the end made me cringe.

I think it just required something that gamers dont have now a days.
Listening and a reasonable level of IQ to be able to connect dots rather than have everything told to them.

And gosh, even if people cant understand what happens, it tells you what happens in each chapter in the glossary bit of the start menu.
A story thats spoon fed to me like im an idiot isnt fun. But i guess thats how most people like it, dumb and simple. Or maybe its all they can handle.

So you DID know what was going on. That's pretty much it. I found the story/story telling no more or less ludicrous than some other flagship FF titles.

I think it was a weak and rather convoluted story which was poorly told with a cast of characters who were rather unlikable. All of these factors created a game where no one cared about the narrative of the game. Compare to Valkyria Chronicles where the story was relatively simple but was well told with a likable charming cast of characters. I liked Welkin, Alicia and the rest of Squad 7. I cared about them and got a lot more enjoyment out of it. I can't say the same about the cast of FF13. Lighting was bi-polar, Hope was a whiny shit, Snow was thick, Fang was meh, Vanille was braid dead. Sazh was alright.
