Can you be a little more specific? What troubleshooting have you done? Have you tried a different msd? etc, etc, etc...

dont know what i did
the only thing i cud think of that cud even mess it up wud be that the plastic shell fell a-part

I don't think that you can actually "brick" a game cart itself. From what I read from your post it seems like something is wrong with the flashcart.
Your DS lite still works without the R4i in the game slot right? It might be a contact issue, that's the only thing that I can think of.

It's very possible, I've done the exact same thing with a different flash cart. Back up your msd, format, and reinstall. If that doesn't work, try a different firmware. If that still doesn't work, then it's probably the cart itself.
