Hardware Left rail replacement? Is it too difficult to do it

Hey there folks
So my Switch has been in a semi functional state throughout the year and I didn't bother with fixing it at all.

I replaced the screen and everything but the left joycon rail doesn't work at all.
Would getting a replacement fix it
I'm scared what if the connector socket might have bent pins
Is it as easy as the LCD connector socket to get their pins bent. Do i really have to take apart the whole motherboard just to plug the left joycon rail ribbon.

I'm lost

No, you do not have to remove the whole motherborad, its an easy fix.

You can get replacement rails rather cheap on ebay
