Hey guys, I’m having some problems with my left Joy Con which I bought in a pair separate from the system, new from the store last July, they’ve been working fine since then, no issues at all. I picked up my Switch from the dock just now and tried to navigate when I kept getting some stutter from the left Joy Con. I pulled off the Joy Con and blew on the connectors for the Joy Con and the console. I hit a button on the Joy Con to wake it up and waited for it to connect to the system, but it didn’t connect, the light kept going up and down without anything happening. I slid it back onto the system but it constantly switches between connected and disconnected, in intervals of 1 second to be exact, so if you’re scrolling down the menu it will randomly stop in between and then start again. I unpaired and re-paired, restarted my Switch multiple times, and the system is on the latest update as well as the controller. What’s so strange is that it worked fine up until yesterday afternoon. The controller no longer connects wirelessly. Anyone know something about this? Thanks

Have you tried re-syncing the joy con with the little button between the ZL and ZR buttons?

How long did you hold the button in? I have the opposite issue with my left joy con. It doesn't work or charge when attached and it only connects wireless.

Until the lights start moving up and down for an extended period of time. Then I tried again for even longer.

Then if the other joy con still works it sounds like an issue with the blue tooth module in the joy con. Any chance you tried attaching them and updating them from within settings to see if anything changes? Even if you already updated them try again just in case something didn't work correctly the first time.

It says all connected controllers are updated.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I would suggest borrowing a friends joy con and testing it if you can before purchasing a new one just to be sure that's the issue.

Just called Nintendo Support, apparently my Joy Cons are out of warranty because I bought them seperately, which gets me the accessories warrranty (90 days) instead of the systems warranty (1 year) which comes with your first two Joy Cons, the repair will cost me some $$. Wow Nintendo, you really know how to make a customer happy...

Damn.. Well we could possibly work something out when I end up getting a new left one but I have no idea when that will be. You may end up getting one before I. But what I'll do is when I do get one is PM you and see if you still need it. If so I maybe able to ship it to you if it's not to expensive. Since mine still works wireless you could probably just swap the pcb over and it should work as normal.

Thanks for the offer, but I went back to Target and told them my issue, and they immediately took it back and exchanged it for a new one - all for free. Nintendo could learn a thing or two...
