Another World: 20th Anniversary
Had this on the Amiga back in the day, really liked it but never finished it, it's pretty tough. It's also pretty short, I managed to play through it today, and get to the end - only had to google for help on a couple of spots, honest - but a satisfying experience.

Long. Very long. But none of it seems wasted or boring really. Its a fantastic journey. 60 some hours.

Really, I've finished it...but I can't figure out the last medal no matter what I do. It's driving me crazy since the game doesn't tell you the requirements for how to unlock them. It isn't unlocked for beating the extra area and getting all characters, as I've done that.
EDIT: Last medal is the Ninja Master medal and I finally got it!

last one I BEAT was Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
but I've been tryna beat Pokemon X recently, it's not hard or anything (pokemon games are dead easy), I'm just finding it hard to motivate myself to keep playing

Seriously a great game, I played it multiple times.
It's also free as a Club Nintendo reward currently, in addition to the same old shit they usually offer.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better. -

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
