I've been wondering this for a while. Wake up to alarm clock, hit off button, fall asleep within minutes again is my routine. BUT get my laptop to power on at a set time and the incentive of checking for new messages seems to be a better idea... in theory. I know that in some PCs, you could set the bios to make the PC turn on at a set time but when I checked on my Dell 1525 laptop, the setting seems to be absent.

Googling throws up a ton of programs that claim to do all this... for a fee. Surely there must be some really simple answer for this that I'm over looking?

i put my computer on Standby and use a program called auto power on and shutdown to turn on and off the computer at a specific time.

but if you want to shut down your computer at night then your best option is the bios. it is usually hidden very well. it actually took me a while to find the option but it is there. its usually in some sub sub option.

i have my macbook as my alarm clock, and i use awaken for that. it loads up itunes and then plays music from it.

are you using haxchi, tiramisu or aroma?
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no, I'm asking which one of them you are using
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    so like it doesnt exist
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
    ?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
it doesn't exist, at least not for aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    ohhhhh
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
on tiramisu you can access it by opening mii maker
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    okay
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
but homebrew is appearing in the home menu btw
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
    yes, now I remember it
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
then it is working, I also don't like that they did this but it is the only option you have if you are using aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
