Homebrew Language

Hey so new problem that is probably simple.

I am trying to play Japanese Animal Crossing on an American 3DS but it crashes every time I try to run it. I am using Luma 3DS on the latest version and I made sure that it is running the right locale.. And the settings are right too... I believe. If anyone can help me, please do so. I would appreciate it.

EDIT: I changed the directory for the locale and it worked, so i dont really understand why it started working because of that.. If someone could tell me that would be nice too. xD

The locale changed when Luma updated to 7.0+ from v6.6.

Yeah, i wanted to test to see what would happen if i changed all the settings back to normal, so like default language and old directory.. and the game still works. i assume its because the settings are saved after it is run?
