As you might know, original GB and GBC cartridges had an internat battery and some an internal clock to calculate events in the games with real life time.
My question is, does lameboy emulate this same passing of time somehow?

I'm playing harvest moon gbc and I need to let 12 hours pass in real life to get my golden sickle!

Yes. Lameboy reads the DS system time and passes it on to the emulated GB/GBC rom.
