Can't be, Sora never fought Nobodies in KH1.
It obviously takes place before KH2, so it's probably another tie-in.

PS: I believe that's the same Nobody boss that Roxas fights early in KH2.

That's the point I'm trying to make! Everyone thinks that this is a remake, but it's not.

It can't be after Kingdom Hearts 1 and before KH2 because he was in Chain Of Memory already. It could be a dream that he had while he was sleeping when Namanai(or w/e her name is) put him to sleep.

I wonder why people don't realize this is more than likely a tech demo, not intended to show off the story of the final game. If i had to guess, i bet they just put random characters around a test map and made a demo to play out of it. Which is why the title is "Kingdom Hearts 3D Demo".

There is one thing it COULD possibly be guys.

What if it's After defeating Ansem in the world that was forgotten, but before Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories.

There DOES seem to be a small gap between the end of the first game and Sora ending up at the crossroads.

It could also be a Dream he has, and whatever he learns in this game about the nobodies get's lost when Namine was taking apart his memories, hence why he doesn't know about the nobodies again until KH2.

OR, It could be what Granville said, and that it's just a Demo.

Either way, this is NOT a remake.

I can't believe how long it took people to realize its not just a remake.
There is a possibility it could be based around kh1 but you have these places because of something similar to coded (digitized journal) and chains of memory (castle oblivion).

Ok, like I said on another thread about this, it IS A NEW GAME, confirmed by Shinji Hashimoto and now by Nomura too:
QUOTE said:
Shortly after the Nintendo 3DS news I met with Tetsuya Nomura, Director of the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Right away, I asked him: What can you tell us about Kingdom Hearts 3DS?”

Nomura snickered a bit.
Right now we can't say much about it, he replied. All I can say is that the Kingdom Hearts for 3DS will not be a port, but a new game. It will probably be developed by the team who was in charge of Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, the Osaka team.”
Taken from Siliconera.

Naminé is her name.
And I believe that could be true, but Riku appears to be playable...

it could be the crappy CoM (i didnt like the card system lol) remake they did for the ps2 (included in kh2 final mix)-

Naw, it can't be. Why make Chain of Memories again?

It apparently takes place between Birth By Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 1...which makes no sense to me.

That doesn't make sense because Sora wouldn't have his Kingdom Key keyblade...

I like the first idea you had; that makes the most sense.

Me thinks it a tech demo to show, what the game could look like on the 3ds.

Maybe we'll get a game that shows what happen to Mickey and Riku while trapped in kingdom hearts?

No, Tetsuya Nomura from Square Enix clearly stated, that Kingdom Hearts 3DS is an new game in the series!

He said that, because somebody asked him whether KH3 is in the making and he said, that some members of the original KH-Team work on Final Fantasy Vesus XIII and the remaining KH-Team, who previously worked on Birth By Sleep, are currently making KH 3DS...

EDIT: I`m sorry, I forgot the source.

But it could still be a tech demo, just because they showed it at E3 and announced KH 3D doesnt mean the product they showed is the game itself. At most, its a tech demo and the real product wont have to do much with what they showed.

Here are some new Infos on the game:
QUOTE
- dev started when general details on 3DS were given to Square-Enix
- Nomura had ideas for framework and story, as well as gameplay systems
- Kingdom Hearts 3D is not the final name
- The '3D' portion of the name has something to do with the game's final name, and it doesn't stand for 3rd dimension
- completely original game
- Sora and Riku appear as they do in the first game
- Nomura explains this by saying: "This is because it's not a remake, but a completely original game. This time, Sora and Riku are the two main characters. We're currently in the process of selecting new worlds. 'KH3D' will be a title that enters a new step to follow the three games whose production was announced simultaneously, '358/2 Days, Birth by Sleep, and Coded."
- story will feature unexpected elements, and may challenge the developments of the series thus far
- Re: Coded will have some hints on the 3DS title
- three new gameplay systems being considered
- Birth by Sleep co-director Yasushi Yasue is battle planner on Re: Coded
- developed by "Square Enix/h.a.n.d"
- Nomura: "It's like one game has been added. My purpose in coming to E3 wasn't just for the announcement but for a meeting as well. I'm scheduled to come to next year's E3 too. There are still surprise titles, but first enjoy Re: Coded, whose release date we're set to announce shortly."
