That's the issue. It's fine that devs don't have to release their work (end users are not entitled to it) and I don't have a problem with that.

I just get annoyed with all the social media clickbait bullshit.
they love to tease us XD

that is all i am getting.

edit : who was the rebug team for ps3?
rebug cfw on ps4 would be a dream !

We're also unlikely to get anything soon because Sony is even stricter than Nintendo about this since the great hack of (what was it, 2011?). Until the PS4 stops getting updates, we're unlikely to see any real releases as anything public will likely get shut down and promptly patched out.

I blocked auto-updates but I'm not so hopeful as to wait on one FW forever, I do update when I need access to PSN (like when I bought FFIX)

The only thing that really bugs me is that one of the supposed new exploits for 4.55 or whatever has already been patched out in 5.0, right? So, why not release that one now? It's already patched out, so there's no point in sitting on it unlike a new exploit that hasn't been caught by Sony yet, and wanting to make sure it's compatible with as many versions as possible. Besides, if there's a public exploit available, more people would be able to make homebrew that would make later exploits more appealing.

I got my PS4 a couple weeks ago, and while it's on an earlier firmware, it somehow already has 5.0 downloaded (even though I haven't set up internet on it) and asks me if I want to update every time I turn it on. I have younger siblings, and since the update screen starts with "Update Now" as the default choice, I'm afraid that they're going to hit that at some point when they decide they want to play a game.

I'm really wanting to get a PS4 version of RetroArch set up, and I heard somewhere that backwards compatibility for PS3 is a possibility. I completely missed that generation, so I'd be thrilled if I could get something like that working instead of buying another system so soon after getting a PS4, and I'm not entirely sure RPCS3 would work great on my computer. (Although I kind of have my doubts that backwards compatibility would be possible entirely through homebrew.)

They might have sold the exploits to Sony, or they are just those a-holes that’d like to see the world burn lol.

i dont care for a hack at the moment,to busy with gaming on my pro.
i hope they release it at the end of its lifespan, just like wiiu.

The only problem here is some with only ONE PS4 kept asking if they should wait till the homebrew is ready for the end user.

For those with more than one, this really isn't an issue. I'll just sit my Slim on 4.0x while enjoy my 5.00 Pro online.

Uhh they're just bragging online and don't take any word seriously from them. They toy around people and at the end, nothing is released

Exactly, just enjoy the console as it is on the latest 5.00 and screw piracy on it and pick up games 2nd or 3rd hand, if you are prepared to wait for some of them. I have 25 originals for it now

Can I update later with a game? I do t know what disk games have the 5.00 or 4.55 firmeware.

I recommend you to wait until the developer said it is okay to update for CFW. They didnt say anything about it. It doesnt mean you can update it because of kernel exploit. You should wait unless you dont care. I am staying with 2.57 until the developer release CFW and tell us okay to update first.
