You shouldn't mix "possibility" and "availability/desirability". Being able to do something does not mean it will be done.

There is a 2600 project, I think it's called Z26, but it hasn't been worked on in over a year and I remember the dev saying he didn't have the time to finish it. He said it might never happen because it's an old port of a port and it can't be simplified without a complete rewrite from scratch (which he doesn't have time for). Sort of sucks but the Atari is so archaic (analog everything, games programed in assembly).

A dosbox my o3ds can run. I mean the ds could run dosbox so why can't the old3ds?

It only works on new 3ds though. Plus most would want a standalone port and not retroarch. And a port that can read sd files for things like windows 95
