i personally tried, paper clip trick but i was not successfull. i tried tin foil and was succesfull in few minutes. I found it pretty easy than anything other. Not sure about 4th pin does something , because my tin foil was all over at start.

Touching the fourth pin can do one of two things: It can make your system not recognize that the joycon is docked(it will still charge but the console wont recognize it as docked, but it's a simple matter or hitting the re sync button on the joycon to fix it) or it can completely brick the system/kill the joycon itself. but like i said the chances of that happening are astronomically low as the foil simply doesn't move a single inch(you can always tape it down to make extra sure it doesn't move if you want to)

Do you enjoy putting words in all-caps for a reason? Like you can't possibly be understood without them? If you were feeling real sassy you could just bold, italics, underline, or (gasp) all three!

I like caps better. I'm old fashioned i guess

This is a perfect example of why you should poke around here and do some reading before going out and spending hundreds of dollars.
"Worst case", you own a great console now.

Funny how that never happened to me nor to the other people i know that use the same method. Most only really happen to TRUE idiots
I've seen plenty of idiots say "oh please help my system doesnt recognize my joycon! Theres tinfoil stuck in there!!!"
and I just think to myself.... Why would you just jam metal onto all of the contacts?

Well that explains it then, those people can't follow instructions since you're only supposed to touch pins 9 and 10, no other. And hey if the only issue they got was the system not recognizing the joycon that's a very easy problem to fix. That's why you read and double read and triple read instructions before going ahead with whatever method you choose
