How can I check if my TopToy DS is fake without opening it? If I follow "To set up your (possibly fake) DSTT for the first time, follow these directions:" In the guide. Can it ruin my TTDS if it isn't fake and I try setting up the card that way?

No, if your DSTT isn't fake, it won't do anything bad. But chances are it isn't fake, so load the DSTT firmware onto that, and if it loads, it's genuine.

You can get games by going to a ROM site (we cannot link or mention any of those on GBATemp). Search on Google, and then when it's downloaded, simply put the .nds file on your DSTT and run it.

I also heard that some people had blown fuses in their DS from using flaschards, how high is that risk. And is it bad if I play it for 4 hours straight?

No nothing will happen to your DS if you use the DSTT, that was only the N5 that had that problem. Playing for 4 hours won't do any harm.

Sorry to say but the problem also occurred with the M3 Simply (it happened to me) - luckily I found out how to 'fix' the blown fuse with a bit of solder. Didn't have any other problems afterwards though (in fact it still running)

As for using 'the fake-killer disabled firmware' on a genuine DSTT - nope, nothing will happen.
In fact I've been using it on a DSTTi since I've had it - & recently I found out that there a DSTTi Checking software on www.ndstt.com website that confirms my TTi is genuine

Why does it say "Don't use the official TTMENU.DAT unless you're absolutely sure you have a real DSTT because it contains fake-killer code."

What if it turns out it is a fake, what should I do?

If it's fake, follow the directions in the FAQ to install a version of TTMENU.DAT that has the fake-killer code disabled. In fact, even if it's real you can run the fake-killer disabled version. I highly recommend it.

Is there anyway I can go to the TTDSmenu without having to turn off the DS?

The only problem I had was the TTDS MicroSD USB thing. I had a hard time taking it out of my PC.
