If Johnny Chung Lee says something, we're inclined to believe him, and not just because we're almost certain he's a wizard. So when he says that Microsoft's body-tracking Project Natal will "almost certainly" spawn new genres, we're inclined to nod our heads in agreement.

"Natal provides a very different set of input capabilities than your typical game pad," he told 360 Magazine. "To really take advantage of those capabilities, new kinds of experiences will have to be explored."

Johnny really is an optimist, isn't he?

Personally, I don't think Natal is going to be so revolutionary...
Not because it lacks potential, in fact, it has excellent potential, but the really big 3rd parties are likely to not invest the time needed to explore game ideas, and will just rehash existing game ideas, as its quicker, easier, and more cost-effective.

The only hope they really got is with the amateur developers, and small, start-up developers, who will have the time to really indulge in the meat of the system.
Microsoft obviously realise that now, else we wouldn't have XNA.

I wouldn't be suprised if Microsoft employed the cream of the crop to develop, (or at least have an input) to Natal games.

This isn't really news, it's personal opinion from another tool who thinks that this stupid ass concept is going to succeed. Seriously, the only people who will buy into it will be those who don't mind looking like fags while playing, basically it's like playing Rock Band and making a video out of it.
