so is it confirmed that fire emblem is not playable on jap wiis? the region list says it'll lock up while loading. sigh. 2 wanted ntsc u games (SMG, Fire Emblem) are having problems. what will be the future of the Jap wii? problems are starting to crop out. kills the euphoria of wii being cracked to play backups. nintendo are getting smarter to protect their properties eventhough they didn't kill our modded wii. this is worse than getting banned on xbox live for using backups. at least the games were playable. if resident evil UC and SMB brawl have this kind of problems, i guess i'll bite the bullet and buy the NTSC UC Wii... such a waste of money.trading it in is not cool.some good jap games might come out that US Wiis cannot play.

Jap text on the menus aswell? and how about audio? isnt there anyway to change the language settings in a menu?
Did you brickblock before you played it?

JPN SMG will not create duplicate channel on JPN Wii! i just tested it out and happily playing SMG(but i can't read Japanese

) did the metroid update trick after that and it still works. no duplicate channel at all!

Did you use Original JPN SMG on your JAP wii? Did you update your wiikey to 1.9g? You from singapore? where did you get your jap smg game?

Okey now we JAP Wii users are quite fucked. Just tried the PAL SMG on my JAP Wii and it gave a black screen after I ran the update. Already sold my PAL Wii for a JAP one so now I might have to sell my JAP to get a american NTSC one hmm...

Hm...well just play the JAP version then. Once NTSC-U doesnt work, JAP Wii owners are pretty much stuck with the JAP version of any game. Too bad for us...

As the saying goes...."you get what you pay for". Buy the cheaper JAP Wii, get a lesser Wii!

DarkCamui,

Did you try WiiBrickBlocker 1.3 on the PAL SMG disc first before running on your Wii?

Yeah can someone confirm if the Pal version works with the ISO ran through Region Free & Brickblocker please?

Does still not work. Brickblocker & Region Free doesn't make games work. Still I tried just to make you guys shut up about it.

We were only asking mate as we're as eager to play it as you are, there's no need for such a bitchy reply

Well then, our only chance to play this in english is to get a PAL or a NTSC/U Wii.

It's looking like it mate unless the WiiKey boys can pull something out of the bag to sort it out but who knows how long that might take if it happens atall

Iv got the Jap version downloading at the minute & i was wondering if SMG will be like Mario 64 where each star mission has a name like "6 Red Coins" "Mario Wings To The Sky" ect cuz if it is the Jap version will be a nightmare unless someone takes screen shots of the English star missions so we can print them off as a reference

IMHO, it's not a problem that the Wiikey people can fix. I think the PAL and NTSC-U versions blank-screens during load because it tries to detect for a supported language as the set language on the Wii. This is supported by the fact that NTSC-U SMG black-screens on PAL Wiis when the language is set to something other than English, but works fine if it's been set to English. Since Jap Wiis have no menu setting to change the default language, it's always set to Japanese and so the NTSC-U and PAL SMGs won't support it. Quite a smart move on Nintendo's part to try and enforce their region locking actually...

That is a very smart move on Nintendo's part i have to admit but i really hope that is'nt the case

When it comes to piracy tho there's always been a way round stuff like this in the past cuz when companys work hard to find a new methods to stop people playing pirate games on there consoles there's always hackers working twice as hard to get round them so im gonna stay optimistic in the meantime.
