great!
so, I assume no matter what region is the wii, we must choose option 3, right?

for ffcc, I think you need to update your wii to 3.2j.
I saw your "2.0j wii premodded with unknown modchip"

yes ffcc needs the update but my wii will never be online due to financial problems (cant buy wireless router)

that is why you need to release a system firmware wad installer waninkoko

check yor PM

hm, what about bringing your wii to friend's home. my cousins and friends do that.
or wait for next in-game update.
I think system firmware installer is in research.

i have a cousin with wireless conection i might bring it next time we go there

its quite far

if you search around youll find alot of these questions already answered

for the heck of it,,your SSBB is a single layer one (no movies)

Thanks for reply! But I have searched for threads and posts and I haven't found anything specific to what i'm asking for. As I said, I am not a genius in these consoles and modchips so could you please provide something more specific so a beginner like me could understand? It would be much appreciated thanks!!!

using pal games has lower compatibility on ntsc wiis

search for the region patcher compatibility list in the wiki

Okay, so i have a Single Layer (and completely functioning) NTSC-U SSBB. What do i need to do now for it to be playable? I have already updated my Wii firmware with the Jap 3.1v2 update, am i fine to just brickblock it and go?

I have d2ckey btw.

I installed the update from SSBB (JP) then just brickblocked SSBB (US). Ran fine without any problems.

i've installed the SSBB-J update on my wii, and wanted to play the U version (the DVD9 version).
for some reason, my WBB (1.3) says that the file "isn't a valid WII ISO file!".
does my file corrupted or is there another way to remove the update?

**edit**
found a dual layer edit of the WBB. thanks

I was hoping that the new jap game released yesterday Totsugeki Famicom Wars VS JAP WII would contain the 3.2J firmware but it doesn't. Sigh. Can't unbrick my semi-bricked Wii.

Could someone please explain why my US (or PAL, dunno exactly) version of SSBB & MarioKart didn't work on my Wii 3.2J Wiikey 1.9s?

1. I updated from 3.0J to 3.1J using Wii Fit J
2. I updated to 3.2J using Wifi
3. I then created Super Mario Galaxy J with 3.1Jv2 update on it (using WuM) and updated my Wii with it
4. Try both SSBB & MarioKart but they always ask for update
5. Burned SSBB J (DVD5 version) and tried yesterday. It runs ok without promting for update (so I guess 3.1jv2 already updated on my Wii from the lasttime?)

SSBB & MarioKart are bought from a local store, which are ripped-products of Chinese (so I dunno which region they are exactly eventhough they have US cover). I also have a Super Mario Galaxy (English) bought from the same store that doesn't work either (asked for update).

you need to wbb those 2.

okay the gecko region free now blocks updates and patches the main.dol which the ...wii game language patcher... uhh.. patches..

so will an original ntscu SMG work on my wii now?

Finally I managed to get SSBB(U) & MKW(U) work using WiiFreeLoader(JP)
grog.gif

My WiiFit(PAL) worked also with the same trick

But when I used SMG(U), after I passed the safety instruction screen, it stopped with a JP message (maybe it asked for original disk?). Any ideas?

DRE?

by any chance is your freeloader the legit one or a burned one?

disc read error?

can you link me please to the freeloader?

Question...

Has anyone gotten an NTSC(U) english WiiWare game to work on a JAP wii yet?

I just tried installing the NTSC(U) lost winds but it did not work. It displayed an error message after loading from the wii channel menu.

you should get them region freed

the message was "you can not play this game"

i got all NTSC u games working on my wii

hint" geocities

Sorry if this has been asked/answered before, but i didn't see it the first time i browsed the thread. I'm looking for specifics on getting Mario Kart Wii Channel working on Wii Ntsc-J. Do I specifically need Mario Kart Wii Ntsc-J for it to work? Or does any region do the trick? And are there any special instructions or utils needed to make it work....or does it work straight off after you install it?
I just got the scrubbed PAL version myself, but haven't tried it yet. There's no 001 error right? If so, what's the best util to get rid of it?
