So I'm curious as if the BluRay drives have a specific "Key" that ties them to the console (similar to xbox 360 dvd drives), and with that could you replicate of flash that key onto a replacement dvd drive? I believe the board on my drive is bad, however; the power ribbon cable on the mainboard of the ps4 had an ear torn off. Could the ear thats missing be in the connector still? How would i remove that from inside the mainboard dvd drive ribbon cable port?
I have yet to try the board inside of a known functional BluRay drive with known functional cables* I know this is the next step
But what options do i have to locally dump my games? Can i install a disc based on my 7.02 console HDD and then migrate the hard drive to my 5.05 (As long as im using a game within the proper FW parameters) could this work?
Additionally, is there a PS4 hack/homebrew Discord to join?
