Jailbreaking Battery Life

I've been wondering whether to jailbreak my 2G iPod touch for a while now, and everything seems to be saying yes to me. The extra apps, cool themes etc. (not to mention pirating apples apps lol

) But I've heard different things with battery life. Some say that is does affect it, others say it doesn't. If anyone can tell me if it does and/or the best jailbreaking tool (I think its purplera1n) I'll be very greatful. Thanks.

It depends on what you install like mobile substrate add ons and winterboard etc... So just get the things you need and get rid of the extras that are not that good and dont help much.

Jailbreaking barely affects battery life at all, i doubt it even does, and you might as well just go with blackra1n as it's the latest tool
