Not being recognized eh? sounds like your G6 has a classic case of a self esteem issue. Since its new to your home it may be frightened try reassuring it, and introduce it to the PC and Slowly. Tell it that everything will be ok and that USB just wants to be friends , remember to remain calm and dont smile to much or you may cause it not to trust you . Follow my advice and you should have G6 and USB making with the happy in no time.

Mind telling where your purchase your G6

Please give more information on your solution, I have the very same problem, but I have two G6lites and one of them works, indicating that it's not a pc problem.

The G6 lite still works in my DS and has never been corrupted. I have tried all of the possible remedies from the forums i.e uninstalling drivers and G6 U-Disk manager etc.

I have tried it on a second computer, it's asleep and it doesn't want disturbing. Help me wake it up

 !!!!

After plugging it in to the USB port and the light showing up I did the following (on Windows XP)

Go to Control pannel and for sanity's sake swhich it to classic view (top left) and then click on the Administrative Tools folder.

Inside that folder click Comptuer Management a program should come up.

Go down to storage tap and click Disk Management. You should see your normal ones and then one that isn't assigned a letter and is completely blank in the volume part. Right click it and go to Change Drive letter and paths.

Go to Add- then choose the letter and click okay.

Now Right click the new drive and choose explore. You may or may not get an error (I did), click okay and then do explore again, a folder should come up this time but will quickly swhich back to My computer, simply press back and then you can use the U-disk manager to find your new folder (it will apear on the menu when you first run it), mine works perfectly now I just have to do that every time I plug the burner in.
