Of course this just may be a fault with my flash cart but I have an original iTouch DS that works fine some of the time. The thing is that it boots properly less than 50% of the time. If I toggle the power and just try again it will eventually work. Pretty much I get a black screen and then after a few second "Loading" appears when it works correctly. When it fails I just get a black screen. When it boots there seems to be no other issue.
I have cleaned contacts and the behaviour is the same in my two older DS's (Original DS and a DS Lite).
I am using the original firmware with the YS menu. I would try anything else that would help though...
