Hacking Issues installing FBI

Hi,

Apologies in advance for my level of technical know-how...

I have been following this guide (https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutoria...without-a-capture-card-ntr-cfw-method.423445/) to be able to start streaming with my 3DS.

I have managed to get past the stage of downgrading my 3DS and getting the homebrew launcher to load, but I am stuck installing a .cia manager.

I am trying to install FBI and have followed guides but keep getting the following error when trying to install it:

"Failed to install CIA file.
Result code: 0xD8E0806A
Level: Permanent (27)
Summary: Invalid Argument (7)
Module: AM (32)
Desc: Cert signature or hash check failed (106)"

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Not trying to be a broken record, but codex of plailect. It will take you out of the darkness. The other thing I'm thinking, are you using the correct files? I've seen websites with some odd extensions linked and they usually don't work.

First and foremost, you have to have CFW in order to record your 3DS screen like that. The error that FBI gives you tells me (and everyone else) that you DON'T have CFW. If you're on 11.2, you're SOL unless you can do the DSiware downgrade with another system with CFW or you get a hardmod. Sorry.

Just downgrading does not mean you have CFW.

You might want to look into injecting fbi in your 'health & safety' app.

If they follow the method on Plailect's guide, then they need to be on the latest firmware with CFW installed, because the files that Plailect provides can only be used on 11.2.

That's why I said to look in to injecting fbi. The fact the OP didn't say, 'I used plailect....' led me to believe there will not be a simple answer.

Which is also why I stated that they didn't have CFW set up because they failed to mention that they had been following Plailect's guide, which is a very crucial thing to mention. This isn't towards you, Esquire but more towards the OP, but you can't just say that you managed to downgrade and want to install CFW features (such as NTR CFW) on a system with no CFW. Posting that you were following Plailect's guide as well as the streaming guide would've been helpful information to know.

Second of all, you can only use the Homebrew version of FBI to install legit CIAs, not non-legit CIAs such as BootNTR. Third, before you start any other guide, finish Plailect's guide first as it will take you through the steps of injecting FBI into your now CFW'd device, then you can go back to the streaming guide to finish that.

Finishing Plailect's guide would let him install FBI 2.4.2 and the HBL cia. :/ All of this is mentioned in Plailect's guide, as the guide walks you through those steps as I mentioned in the post you just quoted.

This is true, but I'm accounting for the stress of doing all these processes and getting nowhere. Installing 2.4.2 and hbl will at least give you that feeling of, 'I can do this'.

To be honest, I barely followed plailect because I read so many tutorials, watched so many videos, and downloaded so much crap, nothing worked. I felt defeated. Then, I came back to it almost a month later.

If OP gets stuck, they can always ask for help. They're not alone here. I understand where you're coming from, but OP should just stick to those two guides (Plailect's first, then streaming) until he gets things done. They already mentioned that they've followed the guide this far. If you get stuck, @richdiesel, ask questions here. We would be glad to help.
